This conference is part of the Travel, Transculturality and Identity in England, 1550-1700 (TIDE) project. It considers how early modern processes of global exchange influenced English identity. Papers will consider the way that the movement of peoples, objects, and ideas across the globe shaped English concepts of self and belonging, both at home and abroad.
