Phillipp Schofield joins SHS Committee

We are pleased to welcome Professor Phillipp Schofield to the Social History Society committee as representative from the Economic History Society.

Phillipp Schofield is Professor of Medieval History and Head of the Department of History and Welsh History at Aberystwyth University. His research focusses on the medieval agrarian economy, with particular reference to the medieval English peasantry. His current projects include investigation of the response to dearth and famine in medieval England and litigation over debt in interpersonal pleadings in manorial courts.

He is President of the Economic History Society, Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences and Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.
