In association with International Women’s Day 2020 we invite you to join us as we uncover the lost histories of South Asian female migrants in London, and discover the untold stories of Ayahs in Hackney.

Lost Histories

A talk with Rozina Visram and Florian Stadtler. Rozina is the author of pioneering books Ayahs, Lascars and Princes and Asians in Britain: 400 Years of History. Florian Stadtler is Senior Lecturer in Postcolonial Literatures and involved in two research projects investigating the history of South Asian migration and settlement in Britain

The Yoniverse Collective presents a Poetry Workshop: Hidden Histories of South Asian Women. Take part in creating your own poetry and performing at the open mic later in the afternoon.
