This free workshop for Humanities PhD students will help you find ways to build and develop your career beyond the PhD. It includes sessions on:


  • Networking for Early Career Researchers
  • Planning Your Research Career: Grants and Funding
  • What to do with a PhD: Opportunities for Multiple Career Paths
  • Developing an Academic Career: Hiring and Interviewing for Academic Jobs


We have secured the following speakers so you are able to benefit from a wide range of expertise and advice: Prof Kathleen Canning (Rice, University, Texas), Prof Niamh Downing (Sheffield Hallam University), Dr Andrew Duxfield (University of Liverpool), Dr André Keil (Liverpool John Moores), Dianne Davies (Research Funding Coordinator, Sheffield Hallam University), Dr Keith Fildes (Research and Innovation Office, Sheffield Hallam University), Dr Adam Gilbert (Doncaster College), Dr Eddy Verbaan (Library Research Support, Sheffield Hallam University) and Dr Vicki Whittaker (Routledge, Taylor & Francis Group).
