Margins to Centre 2021
Margins to Centre is a completely undergraduate led history conference, which ran successfully last year at the university of York.
The conference aims to uplift themes that have been marginalised in the discourse of history, such as BPOC, LGBT+, Gender and Disability history. It also offers young academics a space to learn about these themes, to develop their own original ideas outside of their course, and to experience an academic conference for the first time. Papers are published in the associated online journal.
This year’s conference will be held entirely online and the theme is “Alternate Centres of Marginalised History”. Undergraduate students are welcome to submit abstracts of between 100 and 250 words by the 1st December on any movements, people, places, or ideas that Marginalised people have historically centered themselves around.
If you are successful, you will then be asked to prepare a 10 minute presentation for the conference and a 2000 word paper that will be published in the associated online journal. For more details click here.
