On 6th October, community leader and lecturer Roger Griffith MBE will detail the events of the 1963 Bristol Bus Boycott and its lasting legacy as a landmark win for civil rights in Britain. The four-month boycott was led by Windrush campaigners and local politicians in response to the “colour bar” that saw Black and Asian workers refused from operating Bristol’s buses. The talk promises to dive into the legal and social history of discrimination, and the boycott’s positive impact on rights for all.
