The ‘Women’s History Conference: Women and Religion’ is an annual two-day international conference held at Queen’s University Belfast on the 9th and 10th of March 2018.
This year’s theme will be women and religion. We aim to foster discussion about how women have historically experienced faith in a variety of political, cultural, and geographical contexts. The conference will address the relationship between women and their religion (not exclusively Christianity) from antiquity to modernity.
The keynote speaker will be Dr Liudmyla Sharipova from the University of Nottingham, discussing the evolution of double monasteries for men and women in the Eastern church.
