The Social History Society is seeking to appoint three new members and a postgraduate representative to our committee. It is a fantastic opportunity to shape the future direction of the Society.
We have extended the deadline for nominations until Friday 11th September.
Once nominations have been received, information about the candidates will be circulated and voting will be open to all members of the society. Successful candidates will be announced at the AGM to be held online in October (date tbc).
Ordinary Committee Members serve for three years and are eligible for re-election on one further consecutive occasion. After ending their tenure, they will normally be eligible to stand again for election after a gap of one year. The tenure for Postgraduate Representatives is two years, after which they will be eligible for either re-election as Postgraduate Representatives, or election as ordinary Committee Members, depending on their postgraduate status during the academic year of their re-election.
The full committee meets in person three times a year, and travel expenses will be paid. One of these meetings usually takes place at our annual three-day conference. In light of COVID-19 restrictions, all meetings will be held online until further notice.
