The SHS holds an Annual General Meeting to allow members to review the activities we have undertaken during the year, consider our financial position and have a say in the future direction of the society and our journal.
The events of the past year mean that there is a lot to discuss. The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to reinvent our annual conference, led us to divert funding from events into hardship grants and disrupted our usual patterns of working. We are keen to hear our members’ views about our response – and our next steps.
As part of the AGM, we will announce the results of our committee elections.
We are pleased to announce that the AGM will be followed by a plenary lecture from Professor Martha A. Sandweiss (Princeton University), entitled ‘Seeing the Past: History, Photography and the American West’. After the plenary there will be a live Q&A with Professor Sandweiss.
Our AGM will begin at 1.15 on Wednesday 21 October, with the plenary lecture starting at 2.30. All Society members are welcome to attend the AGM, whilst the lecture is open to both members and non-members.
If you are a member of the Society, please ‘Sign In’ to view the papers that will be discussed at the AGM.
