The Social History Society is looking to fill the following vacancies on its committee:

1 x Secretary
1 x Treasurer
3 x Ordinary Members
1 x Postgraduate Representative (to work alongside continuing PG Rep Aayushi Gupta).

You will be asked which role you wish to be nominated for. You will then be asked for:

• The names of two members of the Society willing to support your nomination
• A brief statement (limited to 250 words) outlining your suitability for the role. This will be shared with members during the election.

Nominations close on midnight on Friday 10 April 2026. Anyone who has been a member of the Society for a year is eligible to apply. Once nominations have been received, information about the candidates will be circulated and voting will be open to all members of the society. Successful candidates will be announced at the AGM to be held at the Social History Society Conference in July 2026.

Please note that nominees for Executive positions (i.e. Secretary and Treasurer) must be ordinarily resident in the UK and must not have been convicted, or charged but not tried, of a criminal offence (other than a motoring offence); declared bankrupt or the subject of a County Court Judgment (CCJ) in the last 3 years, or disqualified from acting as a company director.
