Committee Election Results 2025 Announced

We are pleased to announce the results of the 2025 Committee Election.

Lynn Abrams has been elected as our new Chair. Abrams is Professor of Modern History at the University of Glasgow, and has a wide range of research interests, encompassing social housing, child welfare, masculinities, selfhood, and knitted textiles. Corinna Peniston-Bird has been elected as a Committee Member. Peniston-Bird is Professor of Gender and Cultural History at Lancaster University, and her work focuses on lived experiences, memory, and cultural representation. To find out more, take a look at her profile here.

Aayushi Gupta has been elected as Postgraduate Representative. Gupta is a doctoral candidate at the University of Cambridge and Research Assistant on the Digital Lab Project. Her work examines the visual practices of British women’s missionary organisations in colonial India between 1850 and 1950. To find out more, take a look at her profile here.

Dave Hitchcock has become the Society’s Representative to the Economic History Society. Hitchcock is Reader in Early Modern History at Canterbury Christ Church University, and his work examines poverty and homelessness in England, c.1600-1800. To find out more, take a look at his profile here.
