Professor of Medieval History, Aberystwyth University

Phillipp sits on the committee as our representative from the Economic History Society.

His research focusses on the medieval agrarian economy, with particular reference to the medieval English peasantry. His current projects include investigation of the response to dearth and famine in medieval England and litigation over debt in interpersonal pleadings in manorial courts.

He is President of the Economic History Society, Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences and Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.
